COZY by NK sponsored the ladies under 18 team at the National Under 18 Swimming Competition, held in Islamabad from 19 to 24 November 2025. Instead of putting a logo on a banner, we made every swimmer a full set of custom sportswear: a burgundy quarter zip and matching pants in Studio Terry, a custom tee, a string bag, and hot chocolate blended by our own team. The swimmers came home with two age group titles, two runner up finishes, three best swimmer awards, and three new national records.
Why we made a kit instead of a banner
Youth sport sponsorship in Pakistan usually stops at a printed logo. A name on a backdrop. A banner by the pool. It costs little and it is forgotten by the next season. Most team wear uniforms here are ordered off a catalogue, printed with a crest, and worn once.
We spoke to Aelia Mehdi, who represents the ladies under 18 team, before deciding anything. What came out of that conversation was simple. The swimmers wanted something to wear, not something to look at.
Our reference point was lululemon and Team Canada. As Official Outfitter for the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, lululemon built the athlete kit with input from Canadian athletes across fourteen sports. The scale is not comparable. The idea is. Outfit the team properly and the sponsorship becomes something they actually use.
Burgundy, and the reason for it
The set is a quarter zip with matching pants, cut in Studio Terry. We chose burgundy to sit close to the traditional Sindhi palette.
Studio Terry is a looped, mid-weight knit with spandex in it. It holds its shape through a week of being pulled on over a wet swimsuit and pushed back into a kit bag. Islamabad in late November is cold in a way Karachi never is, and a pool deck at seven in the morning is colder still. A layer that goes on fast and holds warmth was the whole brief.
Grading custom athletic apparel from age eight to age fifteen
This was the first time we graded a single set across that many age brackets. The youngest swimmer was eight. The oldest was fifteen. That is not one size range. It is closer to five.
Most custom sports apparel here is bought as blanks and printed. Ours is cut from our own pattern. Cutting, stitching, and finishing all happen in our own facility in Karachi, so the grading was solved on our own floor rather than negotiated with an outside unit. Sleeve length and rise moved far more than chest and waist did. The smallest sizes needed the zip pull shortened so it sat where it should. Does not shrink, so nothing had to be cut long as insurance.
What was in the package
Each swimmer received the quarter zip set, a custom tee carrying a swimming graphic across the back reading “my tan lines are speed tested”, and a COZY string bag printed “fueled by chlorine”.
The last piece was hot chocolate, blended by our team and packed into custom sachets. It was the least technical thing in the box and the one that landed hardest.
How the week went
Under 10, runner up. Under 12, winners, with Zoya Hafiz taking best swimmer on five gold medals and three new national records. Under 14, runner up. Under 16, winners, with Hareem Malik and Meher Maqbool named best swimmers on five gold medals each.
The kit picked up reviews of its own. We did not go in as the title sponsor. We started as a small mark on the back of the team tracksuit. By the end of the week the team had moved us to the front and named us their title sponsor. We did not ask for that.
The pieces the team wore were custom. The ones they were built from are not. The ladies quarter zip and the Studio Terry flared pants sit in the Sets and Co-ords collection, and the rest of the cold weather range is in the Winter Collection.
We take on custom sport kits for other teams. Sportswear custom design, sampling and production all run through the same floor in Karachi.
